"Otherwise fine" is probably something I've been saying for a while, but I only consciously realized I said it one day in the Children's Hospital parking lot. If you ask me how I'm doing, something is stressing me out, and I choose to tell you, I tend to say, "Oh, I'm worried about finals (for example), but I'm otherwise fine." It's true - beyond whatever stressful issue(s) I'm handling, I am otherwise fine. Perhaps it started because I didn't want to sound pessimistic, or because I wanted to reassure people - I don't know. I just know it became my mantra at one point...no matter how bad things get, I try to remind myself that I'm otherwise fine.
Otherwise, Fine (The Blog)
Since "otherwise fine" is a pretty characteristic phrase for me, and fits the attitude I try to have, it follows that I would give a blog that name. My web address has an annoying dash in it because there's someone else who has a blog called "Otherwise Fine". But they only have one post, and they don't have a comma in their blog title. So ha.
Anyway, I decided to get a blog because I love writing. I have to get my thoughts down on paper (....or a computer screen) somehow. I have numerous journals and notebooks, but what high school student doesn't have tired hands? I tend to send my friends e-mails that are more like mini (or not-so-mini) essays, so I started a blog in an effort to spare them.
I'll probably write about whatever's on my mind, be it my siblings (they're growing up so fast!), my upcoming surgery (surgeries tend to be on one's mind a lot as they get closer), or something more serious. (The alliteration was accidental. Yay, more alliteration!) Anything goes.
